Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Easter...it's got to be my next favorite holiday, after Christmas of course. This year's Easter took on a little different twist. Growing up we spent many an Easter at 'Gary's', my Dad's cousin's lake house. I have some of my best childhood memories there and greatly miss the times we spent there as a family. Unfortunately we aren't able to go there anymore but I thought it would be fun to spend our Easter away from home. A friend recommended the 7A Resort in Wimberley and when I looked at the website and saw another place where many a childhood memory was made, I knew it was the place to go. As a child, my Grandma Bill would take me to a place called Pioneer Town almost every summer. There's really not much to it but it sure was a blast as a kid. The 7A Resort is right at Pioneer Town so I was able to talk the family into going as it is also right on the Blanco River. And man was it a good time! The river was a bit cold but it was still so fun. We were able to do lots of exploring and stayed up way too late every night, playing games. The boys fished and made boats to race down the river. We rounded out the weekend with a visit from the Easter Bunny. Everyone agreed that we should definitely go back again.
