Boys Will be Boys

I couldn't go without documenting our 'Summer of the ER'. The first incident involved Parker & a large water slide. As we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of our friends for Memorial Day Weekend, we decided to let Parker & Carson go ahead and slide a few times. First rattle out the box we here Parker crying and holding his arm. Daddy inspects the arm and tells me it is likely broken because he can't move it without screaming. After a trip to the Urgent Care near our house, they say the x-rays didn't show anything and put it in a splint. We went to a specialist as soon as we could and the Dr. said it was an occult fracture and put Parker in a cast for 2 weeks. Parker did great getting the cast and was a trooper the whole time. Once he got the cast off, all was well.
And then there was Carson... At end of July, Frank went on a fishing trip & Parker was visiting with Kris & Greg...I was on the phone with Kel, Kel when I hear screaming. I run into the kitchen to see lots of blood gushing from Carson's chin and him freaking out! I quickly gave him a towel and told him to hold it tight while I went to throw some clothes on. (we were all already in our pj's) I wasn't sure how bad it was but figured it was better to be safe than sorry. Long story short, we went straight to Night Light Pediatric Emergency and came home with 3 stitches. Carson was awesome...he didn't cry once...not even when they gave him the shots and he didn't move a muscle while getting the stitches. There will definitely be a scar but at least it's under his chin.
Although we could have done without either of the incidents, we're thankful they weren't worse. However boys will be boys...most likely not our last ER visit.
