Christmas Eve

As most of you know, this year we were planning on spending Christmas Eve & Christmas Morning at our house. We had never done this before (we've always gone down Christmas Eve or before to be with my family). I had mixed emotions about it...I knew it would be fun but it just didn't follow our tradition which was a little sad. It meant a lot to Frank so I was ok with it. Well, Christmas Eve Day, Frank says, 'Let's Go.' And so as quick as we could (which turned out to be an all day event, with last minute shopping, packing, trying to fit everything into the Tahoe, grocery store pit stop, etc.) we were off. Frank was just as excited about going as I was, although I know he did it for me. Thank You!!!
The best part was after we had pulled into the driveway of the Pickett's and were getting out of the car, my sister, Kris was walking outside to get something out of the car. I could see her squinting to see who it was and once she realized it was us, she was so excited. Of course there were a few tears because it wouldn't be a 'Parker Family Moment' if there weren't. We made it in time to partake in the yearly traditions which included: making cookies for Santa, the opening of one gift on Christmas Eve night, a drive thru the park to look at the Christmas lights, & candlelight service at Kris' church. It was very special. The boys left cookies for Santa & magic food for the reindeer.

We stopped in Halletsville to look at the courthouse lights...it was so beautiful I just had to post this pic.
